Have you ever wondered who actually makes the apps that you download to your iPhone? That game you love, or the tip calculator app you depend on, takes a lot of time and work to develop the concepts into downloadable apps that you see from Apple.
Recently one of MTM Recognition’s Senior Software Developers, Josh Wright was featured in two
articles in the Oklahoman. The articles were “Get Appy” and “Getting Your mobile App to the iTunes
Store is all in Your App-titude”. These articles were about Oklahomans who have developed apps and
submitted them to Apple. In “Get Appy” Josh talked about his experience in learning how to develop
apps and “spending a lot of time tinkering”. Josh, who is an OU graduate, majored in computer science
and loves working with computers and technology. He learned how to develop apps by simple trial and
error process and bought a few books about it. His favorite app that he has developed is “Boss of Toss”.
This app measures how high a person can throw their iPhone in the air. Although Apple didn’t approve
the app, “it was the most fun to work on” said Josh.
Currently Josh has developed eight apps with six being approved by Apple and can be found on
the market. This is a very good ratio considering some app developers take years to get approved.
MTM is very proud to have Josh in our IT department. He is a great asset to the company and we
are excited to see his skills being recognized outside of the workplace. In an ever changing world of
technology, Josh Wright is “app-solutely” amazing!
